Using Dino-Lite on Windows RT
The DinoCapture software (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10) is not compatible with Windows RT. Dino-Lite models that are compatible with Windows RT will use the Windows RT built-in Camera app. To set up the Dino-Lite on Windows RT, the webcam that is built-in to the tablet in use must first be temporarily disabled using the following steps:
1. Connect the Dino-Lite to the Windows RT device via USB
2. Open the Windows Control Panel
3. Select "Hardware and Sound" then "Device Manager"
4. In the "Device Manager", find the Dino-Lite device under "Imaging Devices" or "Other Devices"
5. Right-click or hold down your finger on the Dino-Lite device and select "Update Driver"
6. Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
7. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
8. Select "Microsoft" then "USB Video Device" then select "Next" and complete the driver installation
9. Right-click on the built-in webcam device (it will most likely be the only device under "Imaging Devices" other than the Dino-Lite) and select "Disable"
10. Open the built-in "Camera" app and select the "Dino-Lite" or "USB Video Device"
