Note: All folders or files being imported/transferred must be made previously within DinoCapture 2.0 using the Folder Manager. Please use the following steps to ensure proper transfer. Failing to use these steps properly or bypassing these methods may result in software failure or unexpected errors. Whether you have upgraded to a new computer or just need to transfer DinoCapture files and folders from one Windows computer to another Windows computer, the following steps are necessary to ensure proper transfer.
How to transfer DinoCapture 2.0 files and folders from one computer to another:
1. Download and install the latest version of DinoCapture 2.0 here: Direct Download (.exe)
2. On the ‘new’ computer open DinoCapture 2.0 to make sure it’s working as expected, then close it.
3. Continuing on the new computer, navigate to the Digital Microscope folder located
at C:\Users\[username]\Documents\ and rename the folder to Digital Microscope backup
4. From the original computer copy the Digital Microscope folder located
at C:\Users\[username]\Documents\ and paste the folder to the same location on the new computer.
Merge DinoCapture 2.0 files and folders from one computer to another with existing DinoCapture 2.0 files and folders:
This process can only be performed by using the Import button to merge existing folders that were created using the folder manager in DinoCapture 2.0. Attempting to import or transfer files in other ways may cause the software to crash or have other unexpected errors. Any folders or files being imported/transferred must be made previously within DinoCapture using the Folder Manager.
