As part of our commitment to adapt to evolving technology standards, we are announcing the discontinuation of support for legacy Dino-Lite models.
Devices Affected By This Change
Support will no longer be available for Dino-Lite models with just 3-digits in their product numbers. This includes models like AM211, AM413T, AM311S, etc. It will no longer be possible to install drivers for these devices.
Devices That Are Not Affected
Dino-Lite models with 4 or more consecutive digits in their product numbers will continue to be supported. Examples include AM2011, AF4115ZT, AM73115MZT, etc. These devices are plug-and-play and do not require separate driver software.
Background and Reason for Discontinuation
In September 2015, Apple discontinued support for certain device drivers with the launch of macOS 10.11 (El Capitan), affecting the compatibility of many hardware products. Since this change, we have provided continued support to our customers, helping them use their Dino-Lite devices through macOS Parallels and Bootcamp.
However, similar challenges arose with Windows 8 and subsequent versions, where Microsoft implemented security policies making it increasingly difficult to support older devices. These changes necessitated a review of our support capabilities.
Continuing Support
Despite these challenges, we are proud of our efforts to support our legacy Dino-Lite models for over eight years after support was discontinued by the operating system providers. This dedication reflects our commitment to the quality and longevity of our products.
While we are unable to continue support for the affected legacy models due to new security policies by operating system developers, we will continue to support all other Dino-Lite models that remain compatible with current systems.
